Why Doesn’t God Help Me When I Need It?
Do you feel like no matter how much you pray and cry out to God, He doesn’t help you when you need it?
Maybe you’ve come to the conclusion that God just doesn’t care about you.
But yet something deep inside of you wishes that God cared, wishes that He would help you.
I’ve been there. I know the feeling. And there are answers to these questions.
Maybe you’ve heard people say “yes God cares about you”, but your experience tells you that God cares about some people, but definitely not you.
It’s OK to feel this way. Every circumstance of your life for as long as you can remember has gone bad. The abuse as a child, the destruction as an adult. Where is God and why is He not helping you? Has He turned a blind eye to you?
Why Doesn’t God Care?
I want to start by telling you what others have probably told you, that God does indeed care about you.
But having someone tell you that does little good if you’re not experiencing it in your life.
So I want to teach you how to begin experiencing God’s help in your life.
First of all, just believing that God exists is not enough. Even demons believe that God exists.
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:19-20
Believing that God exists is not enough.
You must act on that belief and receive the salvation He has provided.
You must believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for your sin. You must believe that Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead.
When you believe this, you can receive salvation.
All your sin is wiped away and you can begin a new life of friendship with God. Then He can begin to show up in your life and help you.
Receiving what Jesus has done allows God to start intervening in your life and helping you.
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:9-11
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
After you receive salvation, you become a brand new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). The next step is to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, so that you can have the power you need to overcome in this life.
The Holy Spirit is going to start teaching you how to get the help you need from God. He is the Helper that you so desperately need!
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26
The help you need from God has come! He is the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus Christ Himself. And He promises that once you receive Him, He will never, ever leave you!
How to Know God is Helping You
God knows that the help you need is going to come through a new way of thinking.
You are reading this article because God is helping you! God’s Word says that His people perish because of a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).
You will not see any change in your life until you start thinking differently. This is just the way our lives are designed to operate.
The way you think has brought you to where you are today, so if you want to see a different tomorrow, you’ve got to learn to think differently- in line with how God thinks!
God wants to lead you into a life of peace, protection, health and prosperity.
But to get you there, He has to help you learn to think differently!
The Bible says that as a person thinks in their heart, so are they.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7
This is why the Bible is so important.
Your life will be transformed as you begin to understand what happened when you received salvation and how to see God’s blessings manifest in your life.
God cannot intervene in your life without your permission.
He does not control people against their will. He will always wait until He is invited.
Once you have invited Him into your life and received salvation, you are on a new path. He can begin teaching you what you need to know to see your life change.
How to See God’s Help in Your Life
God sends His Word to help you. His Word is what will help you start experiencing a different life.
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20
Find a Bible teacher that teaches in a way that you understand and become a student.
Teachers are given to the Body of Christ to help us grow and understand the Bible. The Holy Spirit will take what they are teaching and give you understanding.
As you learn God’s ways and begin to do them, you will see God’s favor and blessings show up in your life.
The Bible will show you what Jesus has done for you through His finished work, and how He provides for everything you could possibly need in this life. Never stop reading and doing the Bible.
The Word of God contains the power within itself to bring about what it says.
As you continually put the Word of God in your heart and in your mouth, it will create the change you desire to see and bring the help you are looking for!
