Does God Have Our Lives Planned Out?
God does have a plan for your life, but He does not force it on you. He allows you to ultimately choose which paths you will take.
God allows you to choose whether or not to pursue His plans and purposes. Even though He created you, He gives you the ultimate freedom to determine your life’s course.
God’s plan for you won’t automatically come to pass. You have to seek it and choose to walk in agreement with it. Many people stumble upon what they were created for, but don’t walk in the fullness of it because they aren’t walking with God.
God has a specific and unique plan for you. He’s had this plan in mind before you were even born.
Psalm 139:15-16 says,
“My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (New International Version).
God had all of your days written out before you were even born! Wow. You aren’t a mistake or created without meaning.
You haven’t been placed on this earth by chance. Everything about you is pre-planned by God for a unique purpose.
God doesn’t create anything without a purpose. Everything is created for a reason.
Think about when somebody created the school bus. They didn’t just build a school bus and then figure out what it should be used for. No, no. The purpose for its creation came first.
They needed to build something that could be used to transport children to and from school. Therefore, everything about the school bus is designed with this purpose in mind. From the stop sign, to the lights, to the way the door opens, to the way the seats are constructed is designed specifically for why the school bus is on the earth.
The same is true for you. Everything that God built within you is to help you fulfill your purpose on earth. Nothing is by mistake. Everything about you is for a reason. When you understand this, you can begin to appreciate how you are designed and the way others are designed.
Is Everything in Your Life Already Planned by God?
God does have a plan for your life, and it is a really, really good one. Nothing else could possibly fulfill you at a heart level the way the plan of God will.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
The deepest dreams and desires in your heart are put there by God.
They are part of that wonderful plan He has for you. Don’t ignore the dreams in your heart. Don’t write them off as insignificant. God has placed them there for a reason.
The life God has planned for you is what will bring the ultimate satisfaction that every human craves. It’s why you exist. It’s what will bring the most glory to God. When a bird is fulfilling its purpose by flying high through the sky, God is glorified.
When you begin to fulfill the reason you were created, God will be glorified through your life. You were created for the plan God has for you. Everything about you is designed for it. Nothing will satisfy you or bring joy to your life like living in God’s plan.
Does God Have a Plan for Me?
There’s nobody on earth that was created without a purpose. God never does things without purpose. Everything about you was designed for a specific reason. God put a lot of thought into you before He ever began designing you.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14 NKJV
This verse is saying that you weren’t just thrown together at the last minute. You were carefully and cautiously put together in just the perfect way.
God not only has really good plans for you, but He promises to help you discover them and walk in them.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8 NIV
God will primarily lead you through the Word of God. As you begin to renew your mind to the Word, His plans will begin to unfold in your life.
The steps of a good man are ]ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Psalm 37:23 NKJV
The only thing that can stop God’s plan for your life is you!
God will never force you to cooperate with His plan. But oh my, people are sure missing out on so much of God’s goodness by not pursuing His will for their life.
There is no greater fulfillment than walking in the reason you were created.
When you find out what you are meant to do on this earth, all the dots connect and the puzzle pieces come together. Everything about yourself and about life suddenly makes sense.
The Lord of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand. Isaiah 14:24
If you are committed to finding out the purpose you are created for, begin asking the Lord to show you and believe that He will.
It may not come all at once, but step by step, you can be sure that God will lead you into your destiny and finish what He started!
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Psalm 138:8
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
