10 Things the Blood of Jesus Has Accomplished for You
It is impossible to put a value on the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is the price that was paid for the redemption of the whole human race.
The Bible states that silver and gold could never compare to the “precious blood of Christ” (1 Peter 1:18-19), because it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul (Leviticus 17:11).
God has guaranteed, by covenant, never to remember your sins after you have accepted by faith that the blood of Jesus has covered them (Hebrews 8:12-13; 9:12, 14, 26; 10:14, 16-19).
What Jesus has done through His blood is really too wonderful for words.
The following is a list of 10 things the blood of Jesus has accomplished for you:
1. The Blood of Jesus Was the Price That Purchased You From the Power of Darkness
Jesus purchased you with His own blood (Acts 20:28). When this truth becomes a reality to you, you will understand how deeply you are loved by God.
The blood of Jesus has completely delivered you from the power of darkness. You have been plucked out of the kingdom of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of Light.
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14 NKJV
The power of darkness includes all forms of death and destruction that sin brought into this earth. You have been delivered from this present evil age (Galatians 1:4).
Satan has no more right to you as a born again child of God. You have been eternally delivered from his domain.
The Bible reveals that because of the stripes Jesus bore, you have been physically healed (1 Peter 2:24). The blood of Jesus has delivered you from sickness, disease, and pain (which are all part of the dominion of darkness).
2. The Blood of Jesus Justified You Before God
The blood of Jesus has completely cleansed you from all sin. Most Christians would agree with this statement mentally, but the reality of it never gets to their heart.
All your sin- past, present, and future has been washed away by the blood of Jesus. As far as the east is from the west, so far has your sin been removed from you.
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12 NKJV
Your sin was obliterated at the cross. Jesus took the punishment for it as if He was the one who was guilty.
Therefore, sin is no longer an issue between you and God. You have been justified by the blood of Jesus.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:9 NKJV
Justified means that it’s just like you had never sinned. God doesn’t look at you like someone who used to be a sinner but has now been cleansed. He sees you like sin never existed. Let that sink in for a minute. The blood of Jesus has justified you.

3. The Blood of Jesus Sanctified You
Jesus’ sacrifice sanctified you once and for all.
To sanctify means to make holy, to set apart for God, to make the opposite of common.
Hebrews 10:12 reveals that Jesus was the final sacrifice for sin. There remains no more sacrifices for sin. Nothing you could ever do could pay for your sin.
Stop trying to punish yourself for your mistakes. The sacrifice of Jesus sanctified and perfected you forever (Hebrews 10:14).
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, Hebrews 10:12 NKJV
Jesus sanctified you with His own blood (Hebrews 13:12). There’s nothing you can do to make yourself more holy. It’s already been accomplished.
4. The Blood of Jesus Has Redeemed You
Redemption is the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7). There is no way to receive redemption apart from the blood of Jesus Christ. There is no salvation any other way (Acts 4:12).
You have been redeemed. You have been purchased from a life of death because you have been forgiven of all sin. This is an accomplished act. Your sins are already forgiven.
Galatians 3:13 reveals that Christ redeemed you from the curse of the law. This means you have been purchased out of every curse including spiritual death, poverty, and sickness.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), Galatians 3:13 NKJV
5. The Blood of Jesus Brought You Near to God
Before the blood of Jesus was shed, you were excluded from any covenant with God and without hope in the world (Ephesians 2:12).
But because of what Jesus has done, you have been brought near to God, included in His promises.
The Lord is always very near to you. You can speak to Him at any time and always feel His presence.
After salvation, the Lord promised that He would never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Regardless of how you feel, the Lord is always present and watching over His promises to fulfill each and every one.
6. The Blood of Jesus Purged Your Conscience
The conscience is the part of us that excuses or accuses us (Romans 2:15).
The blood of Jesus is the only thing in existence that is able to purge your conscience. No amount of good behavior or self-punishment could ever truly clear your conscience.
The conscience is the part of you that produces guilt when you’ve done wrong. The conscience is also the part of you that produces feelings of self-righteousness when you’ve done right. Both of these result in condemnation.
The blood of Jesus is the only thing that can purge you from both of these functions of the conscience (Hebrews 10:22).
The only way to have a clear conscience is to put your total trust in what Jesus has done for you and not what you have done for Him.
The blood sacrifice of Jesus has made it possible for you to have no more consciousness of sin (Hebrews 10:2) This is complete freedom!

7. The Blood of Jesus Provided Remission and Forgiveness of Sins
According to Genesis 2:17, sin cost us our lives.
Under the old covenant, the mercy of God allowed humanity to substitute animal’s blood (or life) in place of our own blood for the punishment of sin.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11
These animal sacrifices were not a true atonement, but only a type or foreshadowing of the true atonement that would take place when Christ came and offered His own blood (life) in our place.
Everything God now does for us is based on the blood of Jesus that removed our death sentence.
There is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood.
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 NKJV
Shortly after I received salvation, I remember having a recurring dream that I had murdered someone and was sentenced to death. In the dream, I suddenly was released because someone took my punishment. The feeling of relief, gratitude and freedom was overwhelming. This is what Jesus did for us.
8. The Blood of Jesus Gives You Boldness to Enter Into the Holiest
Under the old covenant, only the high priest could enter into the Holiest, and not without the blood of an animal.
The High Priest would wear bells on his garment and a rope tied to his ankles. Some commentators believe that this was so that if he died while in there, those outside would hear the silence and be able to pull him out without entering. It is a serious thing to enter into the presence of Almighty God.
Today, we almost take entering God’s presence for granted. The Blood of Jesus has made us pure, holy, and righteous to be able to boldly access His presence.
Because Jesus has sanctified (Hebrews 10:10) and perfected us forever (Hebrews 10:14), we don’t need any more offering for our sins (Hebrews 10:18).
This is what gives us boldness to enter God’s presence.
The veil that separated us from God has been torn in two (Matthew 27:51 and Mark 15:38).
Very few Christians today approach the Lord with this boldness that is available through the blood of Jesus. Most people approach God with shame and a sense of inferiority.
The blood of Jesus cannot be mixed with your own works. Anything added to what Jesus has accomplished by His death and resurrection pollutes His blood.
Yet many Christians try to mix their own goodness with the saving power of Jesus’ blood. It can’t be done.
Approaching God through Jesus is the only way to truly access relationship with God (John 14:6).
It’s impossible to have any boldness in our relationship with God apart from total dependence on what Jesus did for us.
The moment we place any faith in our own goodness, our consciences condemn us because we are all incomplete in our own flesh.
Only those of us who are righteous by faith in Jesus have boldness (Proverbs 28:1; Ephesians 3:12; Hebrews 4:16; 1 John 2:28, 3:21, 4:17).
There was absolutely no boldness to enter into the holy of holies under the old covenant. There was much fear.
Praise God we have a better covenant!
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. Hebrews 8:6 NKJV
9. The Blood of Jesus Cleanses You From All Sin
You have been cleansed from all sin because of the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:7). When you make a mistake, thank God that He has cleansed you and sin can’t stick to you. You have been eternally forgiven.
Jesus loves you and chose to wash you from your sin in His own blood. This love is so great it’s hard to comprehend without the power of God (Ephesians 3:18).
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, Revelation 1:5 NKJV
The Old Testament saints only had their sins covered. That’s what the word “atone” meant. But in the New Testament, our sins aren’t just covered. They are gone, washed away in the blood of Jesus Christ.
10. The Blood of Jesus Overcomes the Devil
Revelations 12:11 reveals that believers in Jesus overcome the devil by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Revelation 12:11 NKJV
The main weapon that the enemy had against us was our unrighteousness, our inability to keep the law of God. Therefore, he could condemn us and bring death and curses into our life.
Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. He took our sin and the punishment for that sin onto himself (2 Corinthians 5:21), and gave us His righteousness in exchange.
Jesus nailed the handwriting of requirements against us to the cross, thereby disarming the devil.
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:14-15 NKJV
Therefore, the enemy no longer has an accusation against us and no right to bring evil into our lives. Thank you Jesus!
